I hope so. Oh, I hope so. Seems to me that there is so much inertia in the system, and DC, that it's too late to prevent it, and we need to start on mitigation. Like figuring out where we are gonna put the folks living on the coast.
Not that we should just stop. All those changes we talked about need to happen, if not for climate change, than for energy shortages. And trees, and stuff. But it's like looking at a chess board and saying, "OK, I see it; might as well quit now instead of stalling for another 10 moves."
OTH, this is more than a chess game, and the consequences of losing aren't bruised egos, and I was taught never to quit running until 10 yards beyond the finish line, so...
I think I will go into "it does not compute" overload and quietly go crazy. |
