Tuesday September 16 2:59 PM EDT Company Press Release Spice Entertainment Channel Held 1997 Spokes Model Contest At Rick's Cabaret in New Orleans NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Rick's Cabaret International (Nasdaq:RICK), the Houston based adult entertainment chain, announced today that the Spice Entertainment Channel held its 1997 spokes model contest at Rick's Cabaret in New Orleans on Sept. 11. The Spice Channel is America's most popular adult entertainment channel. The contest was held at Rick's newest location at 315 Bourbon Street in New Orleans' famous French Quarter. The location was opened December '96 after a complete renovation of the three story historic building, which, on the ground floor includes three stages, full service dining and a VIP section. Rick's Cabaret opened its first cabaret in Houston, Texas in 1983 and went public with its IPO in 1995, making it the world's first publicly traded topless entertainment business. Rick's third location in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota will open in early 1998. Rick's was established to offer the finest in sophisticated topless entertainment. More Rick's dancers have appeared as centerfolds in popular adult magazines than any other club in America. Thirteen of the 400 women that dance at Rick's New Orleans were privileged to compete for a chance to fly to New York and a shot at the title of the network's ``Spice Girl.'' The winner receives a one-year contract with the network as the spokes model for the channel.
