GTW's operating profit of 0.125B would add 4 cents to HP's operating profit per share. You would have to complete the analysis to see how much of the 4 cents drops to HP's gross or net profit. Is it really worth the hassle?

What would HP do with Gateways product lines? Add them to their own like they did Compaq? Then HP could sell Pavilion, Compaq, and GTW's line of computers. Heck, HP's brand name will slowly sink into the sunset.

As I said, this is my opinion for what's it worth.
