From a research report:

Of those 75,000, Ford said it expects to achieve
headcount reductions of about 25,000 – 30,000 by the end of 2008, or about a third of
the workforce. (The 75,000 figure already backs out the 7,000 or so workers that have
already separated; those workers are also included in the 25,000 – 30,000 targeted
headcount reduction.)
The company also said it plans to cut the salaried ranks by 14,000 workers, or about
30% of that population.


Question: if they cut so many people how will they continue making cars?
