We have a bird that shows up during cold winters. Kind of on the small side and is light grey and white. When we get snow with a lot of blowing I'll see 3-6 of them on the backside of a low drift laying in the snow. I asked around and they are some kind of Bunting and they are behind the drifts waiting to eat snow fleas that look like grains of pepper and come out during blizzards. It's the truth as odd as it seems.
