I couldn't COUNT the number of times I've heard Christians say that the Bible is the Revealed Word of God, Divinely Inspired, and every word is meant to be there by him.

Biblical literalism is a major idea within Christianity, but not an idea embraced by all religious Christians or all Christian sects.

I do think however that the sects that are most likely to get in your face either using religion as an argument for politics, or trying to convert you are more likely to be biblical literalists, so your probably going to see that view often.
