<<When my husband died, the nicest people to me were Jewish. >>

My father used McLean Stevenson's father, remember MASH commander? Well he died and then my father has a rupture in his aorta. Jewish Doctor sent him to Peoria to a good heart surgeon. That guy was was going to send him back hoping my dad would die on the way. No loss on his record there. The Jew checked my dad in and did the treatment that gave him 3 more good months to live. Like walking and a little golf.

Old memories, like his last visit to the hospital. Stopped on the way to buy me some decoys, I liked to hunt back then. 2 days later he's in a coma and the family is there. They left and I was there on the "death watch". TVs on and Da Bears were winning. Dad wakes up because the Bears are winning. We had dinner and then talked most of the night. I had a headache and they gave me free pills. After my dad died I bought a large box of Fannie Mae Candies for the nurses.

My dad and I had a night of talking, really man to man because he was dying, no bullshit involved, it gets pretty honest at that point. Next morning things went kaput and I watched his eyes glaze over.
