Looks like Stratfor is having another hissy fit. Paulson acts like a realist, instead of a neo-con space cadet, and you can sense the criticism comming from Strafor.

Also, I think "responsible stakeholder" is derived from "peaceful rise" or some other Chinese policy, not made in Washington (..." take the "responsible stakeholder" concept and run with it" )

Well, Treasury Secretary is a dangerous job for any one with a bias towards reality , at leaat in the GWB administration => Paul O'Neil, sacked for saying what the Iraq war would cost, John Snow for who knows what, and now Paulson is getting crap less than 9 months into the job.

Raising questions about the 9 tons of Plutonium India has and the re-labeling of a big civilian reactor to military should be brought up.

The 1000 troops for Leabanon is 600 more than the French were going to send.

>> You would think the US might consider selected arms sales to China, to recycle some T-bills and forestall the Europeans and Russians ;-) Maybe some earlier model F-16s ;-)

This would also be a good way to prompt Japan and Korea to buy the F-22 to maintain an edge. Maybe even Taiwan could buy the same model F-16, so as both defend the island and to have parts commonality after unification ;-)
