As for me, I don't care whether Bush possessed a 90% approval rating, I'd oppose any term extensions. NO MAN is that indispensable that he cannot be replaced by another individual at the polls.

The minute any president starts asking for a 25 year term of office, you have a very disturbing trend that should cause you to start asking some serious questions about their definition of democratic values..

And in Chavez's case, this was evident from the minute he issued "enabling acts" very similar to those that Hitler used to maintain his control on power.
