Just out of curiosity, how do you come to the judgement that he doesn't want to hear, and is a waste of time?

IOW, what is the difference between someone who is analysing by such inquiry and one who doesn't want to hear. It would seem that you know his unstated intention without his having revealed it. Is that possible? Are you therefore a mystic, or are there more overt clues you go by?
