Yes

HP made a somewhat surprising announcement that they will no longer sell their Pavillion brand in Germany last XMas. It was quite a buoyant sign for the local players (mainly VOBIS). Of course they will still continue to market the Vectra brand (Commercial PC).

The German consumer PC market is one of the lowest margin, but in Europe the highest volume one. By default Germany with its 85 million inhabitants will present a potent market for low-cost PCs. So they are cutting themselves out of the Consumer market, which is somewhat puzzling for a company that wants to grow (and has to grow internationally if they want to grow at all).

Guess who's no.1 again this year (admittedly after some severe troubles in the past two years)? CPQ! They will overtake SNI before the end of the year!

Best regards

K.
