NATO isn't in command of anything. NATO is an alliance that we are a member of. Its at war because the countries in it are at war.

Also the entire war is not under NATO command, only part of it.

Did you answer "did any of the Gitmo prisoners get captured in Iraq?"? If not, what does Iraq have to do with the releasing the prisoners in Gitmo?

I think some may have been but I'm far from being sure. If the answer is that none have, than you could argue that the war in Iraq is not relevant to releasing the prisoners. But if we are still at war in Afghanistan than the existence of the war in Iraq isn't needed to justify holding the prisoners. Also if they are Al Qaida and we are fighting Al Qaida in Iraq than it really doesn't matter where they where captured, as long as we are still at war with the organization.
