What we should be debating is why technological and economic progress has done so little for most Americans, and what changes in government policies would spread the benefits of progress more widely.

That's one of the better articles I've read by Krugman. More balanced and nuanced than some others. It still focuses in on the one stat that supports his case more than any other, but at least it acknowledges (and not in a dismissive way) other arguments.

I might disagree with his suggested policies, and also point out that policies to increase equality of results often decrease the overall quality of the results, and in the long run can produce worse results even for those on the bottom. But though I might not agree with his answers, but still there is nothing that jumps out in his post as clearly wrong, hostile, or very partisan.
