re: "He reversed that call very quickly. I think within two days."

-- Wrong and Wrong.

He didn't reverse anything -- he waffled....and it was 9 days later.

And worse than waffling... he just said in his most recent update - that he never sold his core positions -- ie:

His quote from 9/19/06:
"$HUI – prices are currently testing TL support, and we need to see a monthly close above support to remain bullish and continue to hold our core positions."

Here's his update that you are referring to... he told his subscribers quote: unquote:

"Will this sell signal result in another free fall? Who knows?...You make the call."

Hmmm? -- "you make the call?" ... maybe Jack ought to pay his subscribers instead of them paying him... at least for that update (vbg).

A follow up on our gold trades
By Jack Chan at www.simplyprofits.org

A flash back

The current situation in the gold sector is very similar to the events during April 2004 and should be watched closely. The most dangerous time in trading is when a breakout fails to follow thru, thus resulting in a sharp breakdown. Is this one of those times? You make the call.

Summary
Will this sell signal result in another free fall? Who knows. The prudent thing to do is to exit the markets on a sell signal, and re-enter when we have a buy signal and set up. Holding and hoping is not an alternative.

To be blunt (imagine that).

Chan seems to be pretty good at telling us what happened after the fact. Or, whether the charts are presently reading bearish, or bullish.

That's always been the knock on TA & Technicians.

There are three pillars to every trend, or cycle.

Fundamentals, Investor Sentiment and TA.

TA is 100% accurate in telling us what happened...and about 10% effective on telling us what is going to happen.

In cyclicals, the fundamentals become less and less predictive as the cycle matures...and sentiment becomes more and more predictive -- on a contrarian basis (as the cycle matures).

I'll keep saying it in the hope that it finally sinks in:

"Play the Players -- not the Cards"

Sentiment Update:

Permabulls now exiting the Denial phase and entering the Fear phase
