Hi, Carl, let me add Chinese folk religion to that list, apparently, according to wikipedia, it's one of the top five if you disregard "Secular/Atheist/Irreligious/Agnostic/Nontheist."

Man is the most fearsome, savage animal on earth, perhaps the most fearsome, savage animal that was ever on earth, certainly takes top "honors" today.
It doesn't take much to separate out motivations, if you're honest, careful, and patient.
Unfortunately, all too many "thinkers" are dishonest, careless, and impatient, and just lump every motivation together.
Not me.
Killing someone else in the *name* of religion is very different than killing someone else *because* of religion.
It might not feel any different if you are the victim, but it makes a great deal of difference when you're attempting to understand the motive, and prevent such murders in the future. |
