If a mutual fund gains 100% one year and loses 50% the next, it has a 25% per year gain, right? My usual example is: When you drive 2 miles and average 30 MPH for the first mile, how fast do you have to travel the 2nd mile to average 60 MPH for the 2 mile trip? yep, it's a bytch. George
