OT: Mas,
1. You were venting about DougSF who does't currently post here. You used two posts for that yesterday. I know you have too many discussions with him on ihub (but that is on ihub).
2. The remark that "What little credibility he once had has now completely evaporated." doesn't show that you realize that it is your perception, one that is shared with more people here but hardly all (see votes). If you would have said "IMO, .." it would have shown that you at least respect that there are other opinions here (like the one from Drbes, or mine, and others - see votes). As it stands your remark was absolute, lacking any nuances or respect for other opinions. It was insulting too.
3. I and some others here don't share your assessment that DougSF has "no perception or originality". He may be stubborn and post a lot but he is a contributor more than many others. His latest quite recent big contribution was getting out the truth on QC with 128b FPU in mid 2007 by asking Ruth Cotter from AMD. Almost all including the both of us forgot to do that. That's a very valuable contribution, even though it was simple in hindsight. (Ofcourse this meant he was wrong in his rather long discussions defending his view point that it might only surface in Q4/07 but we all make mistakes and he was hardly alone in thinking so previously. Besides this it also meant he was trying to find the truth, like us).
I share a good bit of your assessment but not that he lost 'all' credibility for making mistakes including the above one (he himself set it straight). Just one example of course. And I don't agree that he has "no perception or originality". I am of the opinion though that DougSF had the right to take your absolute words as an insult as he did, and I requested you to stop that. I also requested you to stop spending as much board space on venting your opinion. It's not what this board is for. You will tread him with normal respect that anyone deserves, even after having been wrong.
Please consider that I think my opinion will 'flip-flop' a bit as well if I would put money on Intel instead of AMD. It's called wishful thinking. Everybody does that to some extent. It's quite human. Right now I'm asking myself if I am too rosy about my estimates for ATI's revenue declines next year. I need to do that because I know my investment in AMD will cause at least 'some' wishful thinking from me.
re: 'he is free to do the same about me and does'. No he's not free to make similar absolute insulting remarks about you here, nor to vent his opinion of you something like twice a day. No value there at all.

You were making absolute, personal, and insulting statements - hardly comparable to some sneering joke about a far away politician you don't know.
Maybe you can try a minute to get in my shoes and read my posts again. I am confident that you will find enough logic, although you may not agree with it.
