I get to smoke Cubans but I find them overrated. They are generally offered to me so I don't pay the exorbitant prices they fetch. I mostly get the Cuban Partagas which I find uneven and too mild. Often badly rolled, to boot.

I find Dominicans quite comparable and, indeed, often superior.

I like Dominican Cohibas a lot, especially the Robusto series, but my favorites are the line of vintage cigars Macanudo sells. The 1997 line is exquisite, almost perfect for me. The 1984 line, if you can find it, is like dying and going to heaven. The Gold Labels are fine, too. I find the GLs comparable to most of the Cubans I've had.

I might change my mind if I ever get some vintage Cubans, but have not yet had the good fortune to smoke any.

Mac rules.
