I personally think the vast increasing cost of healthcare can be blamed SOLELY on attorneys and courts. My wife is a nurse in a locally prestigious hospital. She is a BSN with over 25 years in THAT hospital and another 5 years elsewhere. YET, her salary is only about 44k a year. So I dont think we can blame it on nurses. Doctors claim they arent making it (I know from personal knowledge that the typical Dr. doesnt make anywhere near what people think (though fancy surgeons and all do make the big bucks). I had a mole removed, the Dr. said, I can tell you right now its NOT cancerous be we are REQUIRED BY PROTOCOL to have anything removed from a body to be sent to the Lab for examination for cancer. The lab cost far more then the Dr. for that 2 minute deal. Why have that protocol? its called CYA. jdn
