Hi, Julius:

Both the Value Engine and the Zacks Systems are essentially stock selection methods combining fundamental and technical factors. Stocks selected by either one of this system are not necessarily timely contrarian investment as emphasized by this Board.

Nonetheless, Tom Veale has used the Value Line's stock ranking system in creating a method, which is much closer to the spirit of contrarian investing. He follows Value Line's top ranking list of stocks in terms of growth then seeks out those stocks which suddenly sink to the bottom ranking in terms of timeliness. Some of these then become truly contrarian investments.
