"What approval rating will raising taxes get?"

I'm not necessarily in favor of raising taxes...but I AM in favor of fiscal responsibility. The Republicans WILL NOT cut spending...won't even hold the line - they have grown spending faster than any democratic congress since FDR.

I do not want this country on its knees before China, Japan and others ten years from now because they own our debt and can call the shots. Why don't the "fiscally responsible" republicans rise up in revolt on this?

Shake the bloody rag at the demos for talking about one way to bring some kind of fiscal order, then turn around, borrow more from the rest of the world and tell everyone that things are just great. Come on!

Are you a conservative, or not? If so, stand up for some of the tenents of the movemant - balanced budgets, small government and fiscal conservatism.
