"Sounds like it would have been a good idea in Chavez case..." Maybe not such a 'good idea'.... Foreigners interfering financially in other countries' elections is illegal in every country I've ever heard of (including in ours) --- and some of Chavez's opponents are on trial now for receiving 'US supplied illegal funding'.
