JF, The fact that almost all wealthy countries have single payer, and all have significantly lower cost is as close as you are going to get to proof.

I wonder what would happen to the cost of Canadian health care if they lifted the price controls on prescription drugs.

Now before you shoot down the relevance of my argument, consider this: What new drugs come out of Canada?
