The whole issue of welfare rights to single mothers drives me nuts. It is outright discrimination that unemployed, single mothers get free healthcare in this country. I have had to pay over $20,000 out of pocket in the past year for hip replacement, kidney stones and a broken elbow. The 20K was just the part the medical companies did not pay. I'm glad the insurance paid the other 80%, but these deductibles are simply outrageous. Who charges $18,000 for an elbow surgery or a lithotripsy for kidney stones? It totally offends me that poor people get free healthcare in this liberally intolerant system. Everyone argues that we live in a system that should provide healthcare for the weakest. Why not the strongest. Now, I'm fucked because I can't change private insurance due to the hip replacement.
