Plenty of family trees are available on-line. Genealogy is one of the biggest uses of the Internet. Used to be in the top three, along with day-trading and porn, don't know where it stacks up now.

If you know the name of a grandparent or greatgrandparent, just google that name, see what turns up. You may be surprised.

Also, it's very easy to get as far back as 1850 using the census, before 1850 the census isn't very helpful.

You could probably access the census online for free at your local library.

But when I see nobility being claimed, I am always skeptical. I mean, if we had noble blood, why would it be a secret?

I come from a long line of farmers, shopkeepers, and the occasional doctor.
