Hi bill c.,
I am and have been long WSTL in the past. I think it is a well-run company. I have also observed the CAP/DMT wars (as you have) over the past couple of years. What always suprised me was that most of the CAP-support activists on this and other threads had axes to grind --i.e. they were either employees of GlobeSpan (ala Luke Smithwick) or were somehow paid to be cheerleaders. While I don't think either side has been completely honest, from my understanding of signal processing and my conversations w/communcations people far more expert than I, it appeared that the 'debate' if one can call it that, was being twisted by CAP supporters. I sincerely believe now, that Globspan, knowing that it couldn't compete w/DMT on a technical basis, spent alot of money on PR to try to sway the telcos. I also believe that they have paid experts to write deceptive articles, etc. I guess where money is at stake, people will do about anything.
I am also very disappointed in WSTL. It seems to me that everything that has come out of Seaman's mouth to this point has been inaccurate. No MOT chip. No contracts. etc etc. I'm getting a little frustrated w/my WSTL investment and I wonder if they'll be able to compete against the big boys given that they have no real technology that they can call their own.
All this IMHO. If you've followed my posts on the AMTX thread, you'll know that I have serious reservations about aspects of AMTX, too. Unlike others on this thread, (and the AMTX thread) I am not here to cheerlead.
