Gore was instrumental in creating the internet. Very much so. He never said he invented it. He never used that word. That was a rightwing smear lie. What he did say was actually accurate. He and several others in congress made it possible for the internet to exist. Not the scientific invention but the federal support to allow it to come into being for us all to use. They called it "the information superhighway" back then and in 1992, Gore was its #1 champion in DC.
