It is a de facto lowering of the standards for the treatment of prisoners. Why do you think leaders in the republican party are opposing it? I'll tell you why. It is because they know the American people are opposed to this new interpretation of how prisoners should be treated.

Intelligent people realize that this will come back to roost with our own sons and daughters who are captured by enemies.

My assessment is not incorrect.

It is yours which is short sighted and morally repugnant.
