I'm more inclined to appreciate the genius my Dad displayed in his story about his first car, which had wooden spokes in the wheels. When the spokes got loose, he drove it into the creek and let water do the work for him.

At the lake a couple of weeks ago, I ran across an old photo of him doing just that.

He wrote a little article about it, which appeared in Florida Today (I may have that title wrong, but it's published by Gannett in the same format as USA Today).
