It is a fact that FNC is one of the most listened to channels on either service (thus, when Sirius tried to delete it at the beginning of the year, they quickly came to terms after people started dropping SIRI's service).

Thanks for proving my point. Even though earlier you stated that a single piece of content does not drive subscriber growth.

The Fact is.. A single piece of content WILL DRIVE LOW CHURN GROWTH.

So while you trumpeted the diversity of all of these music channels, in the end.. It doesn't mean squat if they don't drive subscriber demand in numbers.

But to suggest that "The Loft" is "redundant" is absurd. A substantial portion of the music played on The Loft cannot be heard ANYWHERE else on radio -- XM, Sirius, or terrestrial.

OK! If that is your OPINION.. And you are entitled to it. Too me.. There are just too many esoteric music channels. And that my friend is why they are not heard on terrestrial radio.. Because there is no wide spread demand for this offering. And I would suggest that while they may add a certain dimension to the overall listening expreience and some given time.. The net result is that there is other content available that would drive higher "low CHURN subscriber growth" at a lower cost to overall bandwidth and internal programming costs.

Could you please explain what other channel(s) you've heard this "redundant" content on?

I couldn't tell you thier exact names and numbers because they all just become a blur after a while.

Obviously, programming radio isn't your thing.

Probably the same thing some people told DISH about their international channels.. But, in the end.. It's not about "programming radio".. It's about providing content that will achieve the highest number of subscribers with the lowest overall CHURN, at the lowest cost. In the end. There has to be a single piece of content that is the deal maker.

I have every album by Pink Floyd, King Crimson, and Yes -- and while they are all great bands, it is ridiculous to suggest that you could form a channel of just this music. The obscurity of "Larks Tongue" and "Atom Heart Mother" simply will not be tolerated by radio listeners.

Well, obviously long form progressive rock songs are not to everyone's taste. Just as Sexually explicit Hip-Hop and Rap are not to everyone's taste. But, that does not stop them from being offered and capturing that audience.. Believe me.. If the listener will tolerate Sexually explicit Rap on the service.. They will tolerate a Progressive Rock channel.

Your remarks suggest your knowledge of these services is nominal, at best. Just like your knowledge of the financial aspects of the business.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.. Glad to see that your superiour "knowldege" of the financial aspects has finally been rewarded with the $60 price target!! LOL!! Unfortunatly Mr. Ray.. Your financial projections have just been AWFULL. Just like those CFBE projections that are now 3 (almost 4) years WRONG.

Welcome to the Popsicle Stand.
