Thanks for the response. I suppose my thinking was that if a person was allowed to post nonsense, only to have it deleted, it might actually be more discouraging than not being allowed to post at all - maybe provide some incentive to put a little extra thought into the next one. Plus most boards end up with a lot of clutter that technically amounts to TOS violations, but isn't worth wasting anyone's time to bother about, and an outright ban would be out of proportion to the offense. Sometimes I wonder what a first time viewer, or lurker, on some boards must think of the waste of bandwidth, and I think it would be almost a courtesy to them for a moderator to have the option to clean it up a bit.

Anyhow, just tossing it out as a thought. It might be worth kicking around a bit, get some feedback from other members, or maybe sometime down the road let a few interested members test it on several boards to see if it's feasible.
