You're in denial. For people struggling to pay bills, $60 may be $60 they don't have. What you get for $60 is your blood pressure taken and your pulse taken, your reflexes checked, your chest listened to. Perhaps some prescriptions written that you can't afford any more than you could the doctor's visit. Maybe a few samples given from pity..

Next time you get your prescriptions filled, ask what the retail cost would be without insurance! The high deductible insurance doesn't pay for them.

Any more "diagnosis" than this, and the cost goes into the hundreds and THOUSANDS of dollars. You KNOW this. Most people without health insurance will wait until a problem becomes UNBEARABLE before seeking treatment, hoping it will just go away with time.
