Oh, I see, your "real" problem is your personal lack of health insurance. Too bad for you, why don't you have health insurance?
Even if you have a pre-existing condition, after a suitable waiting period they will cover that.
Or, why don't you at least investigate HSAs?
BTW - we really do spend $5K/year for our HMO premiums, even though my husband has a "cushy" job with the federal government. Health insurance, even if you are offered it at a "reasonable" rate from your employer, runs in the range of $300-$600/month, and that's just your own out-of-pocket. The employer matching contribution comes out of your wages, anyway, because there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
I know a lot about the costs of health insurance because this is something my clients have to tell me.
The reason US health insurance costs more is that we all expect the best health care money can buy, and we get it.
If you want sucky health care, go to another country, don't mess with my health care. |
