I'm not excusing anyone. I am pointing out the differences. I hope you understand the differences in scope and goals. So no, "terrorism is terrorism" is not even close to true.

Terrorism with the goal of subjugating or destroying 4/5ths of the world's people is not equivalent to terrorism with the goal of removing a very small number of people from a small, specific geographic location.
