Now there's a huge hurricane downgraded to tropical depression.

Now that was a real joke. I know it rained sometime today because when I went to my car in the Honeywell parking lot at about 5:30 tonight the pavement was a little wet and then later tonight the street was damp again, but I have not seen it rain in north Phoenix and north Glendale today. I had to wear my sunglasses driving to work this morning.

It was hilarious watching the 10 o'clock news. The poor news shows were scrambling to find something exciting from all their disaster coverage crews spread out all over. One show had footage of street flooding in Yuma that was so bad that (gasp!) cars could barely drive through it!

I understand that some parts of the state did receive substantial rainfall, but we got squat in north Phoenix. This was the Comet Kahoutec of storms, not the Storm of the Century as the hypsters have been blasting for the last three days.
