re: ESLT - Elbit Systems

Allan,
yes, ESLT certainly gets my thumbs up. You should relate its internal capabilities to IIVI. 2-6 Inc is purely lasers and exotic optics. ESLT is broader, it'S also a defense contractor but on the "Exotic weaponary" and high end site.

There are less than 10 publicly listed firms in the world that have expertise in Exotic Optics and defence related laser systems. Think High-Energy lasers. Think "LIDAR" Laser imaging. Think High end Military Infrared Detectors "CdTe" - Cadmium Telluride capability and hte like. Well, obviously IIVI can do it and a japanese firm. But ESLT also can.

What is more ESLT last year made a quantum leap in this domain when they acquired "ElOp" company which can be compared with what FLIR and the like can do in the US... Military Electro-Optics, very hush hush..

you might also take a look at KEYW in this regard. All solid plays in strange areas. But these areas might be the point where the US and other western entities have their competitive advantage..
