Even if you used a 100,000 ton hardened steel axe, you would still need to get a swing at it. No more than a couple feet of swing. The space from one floor to the next is more than enough. The supports of the WTC were built to support not "just" 100,000 tons The supports of the WTC were not designed to withstand anything but a vertical load. As soon as the forces were coming in at angles it would have pushed the sides aside. TP
