Sorry Paul. I shall read your posts knowing that from your experiences you offer some authenticity to them as does Ed. My only experience with the military was in 1952 when I worked in Special Services with vets being repatriated from the Korean War. Not pleasant at all as I heard stories of terrible atrocities committed by some of the returning soldiers.. Somehow war fascinates me albeit I hate it.. Reading 'AMBUSH ALLEY right now on the most extraordinary battle of the Iraq War... the fight for Nasiriyah.. Maybe it's my attempt to understand man's inhumanity to one another.. that prompts this. Sorry that you had to witness the death of friends too.
