If you look at the WHO report that forms the basis of your post, you'll see that the US leads the world in "responsiveness" of our health care system.

"Responsiveness: Responsiveness includes two major components. These are (a) respect for persons (including dignity, confidentiality and autonomy of individuals and families to decide about their own health); and (b) client orientation (including prompt attention, access to social support networks during care, quality of basic amenities and choice of provider)."

Americans want, and get, prompt medical attention, high quality of basic amenities, a choice of providers, and autonomy of individuals and their families in deciding about their own health.

Where we "fall down" is in "fairness" aka socialism.

I recognize that it imbitters you that health care in the US is capitalistic, not socialistic. Nevertheless, if you want good health care, qua health care, the US should be towards the top of your list.

Maybe Japan is better, as long as you're Japanese, not gaijin or any other "inferior" species.
