You're very witty and entertaining, but I wonder if you realize that there is a strong sentiment in the US to just withdraw within our borders and let the other nations deal with each other, one-on-one.

It's one thing to expend blood and treasure protecting the grateful, but quite another to be subjected to constant sniping and complaints.

I expect that there were quite a few Romans who got a bit of satisfaction watching the ungrateful segments of the Empire fall to the barbarians.

No doubt there were people back then arguing that the Romans really weren't protecting them from the Germanii and the Huns.

But watching the world fall to another Dark Ages isn't worth the satisfaction of "I told you so."

We'll still protect you, whether you like it or not, because the alternative is worse. Although, if ya'll could find your balls again, it would be appreciated. Thank God for the Aussies and the Brits.
