SLJB's cement contract is for 7MM metric tons per year. 1 metric ton = 2 204.62262 pounds 1 USA (short) tons = 2 000 pounds 1 metric tons = 1.10231131 short tons hence, the 7 million metric ton/year contract is for..: 7 .72 million USA (short) tons, or, say roughly 8MM tons/yr for convenience....................
