Oppression of Christians in East Timor in 1975 wasn't even an issue. Islam did not have any significant political influence on the Suharto regime in 1975.

Indeed, some of the political parties requesting annexation were headed by Christians and had substantial Christian membership.

Mq's just throwing in the Islamic angle to tweak us. It's one of those manipulations of fact that doesn't hold up under scrutiny, like the argument that Osama bin Laden is a creature of the CIA, rather than an independent actor in the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan.

Note that both accusations have something in common -- the Communists lost, and Communists have zero credibility when talking about world politics. The ends always justify the means, which includes lying.

Not that Mq's a liar, he's either a dupe or just tweaking us because he doesn't like to be reminded that New Zealand's been de-balled.

If New Zealand is ever invaded, the Kiwis can hit the invaders with their purses. ;^)
