I am amazed at the same conservatives who said: "If only we had known about those past traits of Clinton's BEFORE he ran for President, we could have made an educated decision. We could have judged the man by how he dealt with such claims"....are now wailing about Allen.
Allen did use Macaca...and nobody, not even the dumbest rube in the world, believes he "made the word up" on the spot, what with his background, knowledge and supposed awareness of the world...but that is what he says..so we can judge him on that and decide how to feel about him.
As for his jewish heritage...he acted like a complete idiot again, while he was munching on that ham sandwich...so we can judge him on his reaction to that.
Now, he had denied ever using the "N" word. But the separate witnesses keep coming out, so eventually he will change his story and say: "well, maybe I did, but, gee. I was so young then"...and we can judge him on that.
As for the noose he kep in his office (just a little noose, he says) and the confederate pin worn in early photos...well, we are entitled to judge him on that.
The voters of Virginia actually get to do the current judging. But if he runs for President (hard to imagine), then we all get to judge him...and his past choices and present use of terms he "makes up" are legitimate considerations. |
