The first one I agree with you on. That being assumption that the taxes being paid by the top 1% increasing is not at all due to the change in tax rates.

You aren't exactly agreeing with me, or disagreeing with me on that one. I didn't state an opinion on the issue other than that it would be impossible to prove either way

The second issue is that he declared that the top 1% is paying more as a % in 2004 than 2000. He never established this.

He never established any of the specific assertions about changes in taxes paid.

The blog post isn't the source for the stats. I could point out any number of other sites making the same claim, but unless your going to go through the raw data yourself your taking someones word for it. The site reported information, it didn't report raw data. You can either trust Mankiw or not.
