Hedge funds can't advertise results.

if they can't advertise results, then why did we all know what Soros was making in the Quantum fund? they used to talk about it all the time in Barron's. maybe they can't "advertise" with intent to solicit, but i can't imagine that hedge funds are required by law to keep their results secret. they must be able to disclose, otherwise how would the successful funds be able to attract more money?

ork, please understand i am not saying this to be ornery--i just think there must be a way that hedge fund results are disclosed. there are, after all, regularly published stats on overall HF performance, so the HFs have to be sending their results to some clearing house or something.
