Pelican Bay Max prison: 8 miles north of Crescent city, CA. Pointer is 41 51'15.67" N by 124 08'59.17" W. Very good resolution at 1000 feet or closer. If you're about 10 miles elevation, you will see two lakes north of Crescent City. Just to the right of the top of the right lake, you will see a white structure in a rough 'X' pattern. That's it.

California's highest security, modern prison facility, opened in 1989, to move the state's worst offenders out of antiquated facilities such as Folsom and San Quentin (which are now medium and minimum security). Pelican Bay, located near the Oregon border, has two areas, the maximum security prison, and the more notorious "supermaximum" security housing unit (SHU). The SHU has been called the most secure facility in the nation. It's 1,056 cells were designed to house the inmates who proved troublesome in other prisons, minimizing the risk by reducing their contact with other people. It is fully automated, operated by guards in control centers, who can open doors remotely, and who communicate with the inmates through intercoms. The windowless cells are "as sterile and aseptic as a hospital." Pelican Bay was designed for 2,280 prisoners, and generally houses over 3,300.
