I don't have problem with zoning rules that protect green belts. I think land use planning is great. I hate blight too. But in the case I described there was no zoning change, and no eminent domain providing compensation for the owners. They were simply prohibited from performing a lawful act....They could not use their land as it had been zoned to use....Imagine the drop in the property values..and they were stuck with it, cause government wasn't going to buy it..just tell them they could not use it.
