The free market is a myth for the unthinking masses. Reality doesn't work that way. Human nature doesn't work that way.

Think of the 'free market' that is the stock exchange. How many rules, regulations, laws, committees, etc. are required to make that particular 'free market' stay free?

Free markets require: costless transactions, frictionless transactions, perfect information available instantaneously to all participants.

Where in the world does that exist.

In order to be 'free' in the way most of us think about the US economy, we require tremendous regulation to get there and stay there.
