Agreed. Spending is the issue. If the government taxes money to spend, it takes it out of the private sector, and it if borrows to spend it takes it out of the private sector. The harm is similar. Borrowing has the disadvantage that you have to pay interest. Taxing has the disadvantage that it distorts economic decisions more than borrowing.
