Lim,

Forget about Oct 4th. There will be no settlement. Unless what PJ said was true and Q offered them an unbeleivable deal. In which case if BRCM accepts Q will tank due to the percieved weakness in Q's legal armor. If what the lawyer said is true then why would BRCM ever settle, they would look like complete idiots.

The big date is Oct 10th. If the ITC finds in favor of Q it will be a huge blow to BRCM and POS6.

Also the focus should be on WCDMA traction. Vodaphone's statemnt that 1/3 of new subs are 3G is not impressive to me. There is only a 25 euro spread between 2G and 3G and to have the largest cellular comapny in the world only converting 1/3 of the subs to 3G is disappointing at this stage of the game.

Also of note is CarPhone Wharehouse's dead silence on 3G. At the beginning of the yr they where very vocal on how 3G was going to explode in the 2nd half and that 3 would dominate sales due to their competitive pricing. I haven't heard too much bragging from 3 lately either.

$1.85-$2 a share in 07 would be disappointing also. Most wcdma projections I've seen call for 200M+ units in 07. Add on another 200M+ in cdma sales hopefully then we are in range of a half a billion devices for 07. For Q to earn even at the high range only $2 means ASPs have fallen dramaticly and or R&D expenses has continued to sky rocket. Both not good things for the stock.

I hear ya on the crappy stk performance especially when RIMM shoots up 20% in one day and RIMM is no comparison to Q. Even BRCM with their options mess and threat of delisting from the NAZ has recovered better than Q. Yes all disappointing but hopefully some key metrics will go Q's way by earnings time.
